Theft and retail loss is the most prevalent form of shrinkage experienced by retailers on average globally according to a 2017 article released from the Australian Retailers Association. It costs Australian retailers and business billions each year, and for most retailers the numbers are on the rise averaging between 1-3% of gross profit.
To combat shrink, retailers should adopt strategies to approach losses from a wider perspective across all levels within the organisation whilst also working with their suppliers and solutions partners.
With the right retail security technologies, people and processes you can improve merchandise availability which in turn will directly impact shopper satisfaction and increase profitability, whilst also reducing the incidence of overall retail shrinkage from the management of shoplifting, employee theft and employee error.
AIPS security services have the experience and knowledge to work across all levels of Loss Prevention including the installation and advice of technology for electronic tagging and CCTV, manpower services of both uniformed (overt) and covert loss prevention officers and internal training programs to educate management and staff on the instance of employee error and its contribution to overall stock shrinkage.
Our existing loss prevention work with some of Australia’s largest retailers sees our experienced staff utilise a database of known offenders and the legal knowledge to deter these regular offenders from entering your premises. We will deter would be criminals, apprehend offenders and recover stock across your retail premises.
We aim to promote a safe, welcoming and secure environment with our loss prevention officers whilst protecting your stock, your staff and your bottom line profitability.

It used to be that physical, operational and cyber security were managed in isolation. However, criminals, activists and competitors don’t think that way and are becoming more sophisticated. They will use any vulnerability to gain access to your premises. There are plenty of examples that by breaking through your access control, criminals gain access into your premises and then directly tamper with your servers or operational systems. This means your IT and Operations need to be thinking about a complete security solution.
While traditionally security is about protecting the perimeter, a significant number of breaches are occurring due to internal threats. A disgruntled employee or a contractor that has not been fully vetted are already inside your organisation and present a real threat.
We provide essential consultancy to clients: to map their security needs, guide them towards the right solutions and assist with their implementation.
Our clients ask us to help them develop systems and processes to protect their staff, assets and investments against a wide range of sophisticated adversaries. We work with clients to build threat intelligence and risk models that identify areas of vulnerability, and to design and implement protective measures.
Our security experts have acted on behalf of a diverse client base on matters that include security planning, site portfolio reviews, security surveys and penetration tests, training and intelligence programme development, expert testimony and post-incident investigation. In each case we adopt a threat intelligence-led approach, leveraging the global reach of our source network and local security resources to deliver the best outcome for our client
AIPS Security Risk Management Services is an ideal way to start your journey into providing a safer and more secure environment for your organisation. The process will begin with a sit-down meeting and walk through of your building(s) where the Security Risk Assessor will ask a variety of questions and take notes on any threats or vulnerabilities that he identifies. Some advice may be given during this stage, but it will be preliminary in nature.
Within five working days of this assessment taking place, you will receive a risk assessment report and a Security Risk Management Plan which will detail what steps AIPS recommends you take to improve the safety and security of your organisation. These reports are detailed and thorough, giving you enough information that, should you choose, you could dramatically improve your security infrastructure on your own simply by following the plan.
Having a professional security risk management plan in place is also important legally, potentially lessening liability in the event of legal action stemming from an adverse security event.

Australians enjoy the freedoms associated with living in a peaceful and democratic society. Regrettably, the danger of terrorism is an existent and continuing one which has the capacity to undermine the safety and stability of our society.
With serious incidents within Australian and well publicised terrorist acts overseas, planning and preparing for the likelihood for such events is now vital.
AIPS conducts an objective, private assessment of a facility’s vulnerability to terrorist attack for both public and private businesses in Australia.
Possible terrorist targets include corporate headquarters and offices, key / critical infrastructure, cultural organisations and businesses, building facility management organisations who manage high-profile buildings and building owners with an overseas headquarters.
